Covers ALL dogs and cats in the household under the same policy.

Overall Policy Information

  • Overall policy:
    • Covers: All dogs and cats in the household under one policy.
    • Cats and dogs: NO AGE LIMIT
  • Waiting periods: Non-accidental claims 30 days from start date of policy.
  • Accidental injury claims: 2-Day waiting period from start date of policy.
  • Claims: Processed within 72 hours.
  • Payments: Can be reimbursed to policy holder, or paid to your vet directly by arrangement. With pre-authorisation, we can pay for larger cost events, directly and upfront to your vet.

Annual and Claim Limits

  • Max Combined Claims: 4 claims per household per policy year.
  • Claim Limits:
    • Illness: R1500 per claim
    • Accidents: R5000 per claim

• A claim is deemed to be a single treatment date or the continuous period for which the pet is hospitalized as well as follow-up or subsequent treatment within 6 months for the same event.

Excess Structure

  • 20% of claim cost (min R350 per claim).

What Your Pets Are Covered For

  • Accidental Injury:
    The accident must be a direct consequence of at least one of the following and be diagnosed within 48 hours of the accident event;

• A motor vehicle accident.
• A burn or electrocution.
• A fall from an elevated position.
• A near drowning.
• The actions of another animal.
• An allergic reaction to an insect bite other than tick or flea bites. Biliary (tick bite fever / bosluiskoors) is covered as an accident.
• The actions of another animal.
• A snake bite.
• Poisoning.

Or otherwise result in:

• A fractured bone.
• A puncture wound.
• A traumatic ligament or tendon injury.
• Lacerations, abrasions or wounds.

  • Acute Illnesses:
    Veterinary treatment of the household pets for the costs of:

– consultations
– diagnostic investigations
– surgeries
– acute medication
– radiology
– biopsies & pathology, as a result of an acute illness.
